Electronic transfer tattoo with a crease amplification effect

Electronic tattoos can have applications during health and movement sensing on human skin. Nevertheless, the existing versions are nonconformal, sticky and multi-layered. In a new report, Lixue Tang and a research team in biomedical engineering and nanoscience in China achieved the multilayer integration of an 800 percent stretchable, conformal and sticky electronic tattoo. The construct allowed the crease amplification effect, which amplified the output signal of the integrated sensors by three times. The team showed the possibility of transferring the tattoo to a different surface to formed a firm attachment without solvent or heat. The researchers used a straightforward method to fabricate the tattoo based on a layer-by-layer strategy with two materials used to fabricate the circuit mode within the tattoo. The three-layered tattoo integrated one heater and 15 strain sensors for temperature adjustment to monitor movement and to remotely control robots.

Report: Tencent raising billions to buy EA, Take-Two, or others

Sources tell TMT Finance that Tencent is raising billions to buy out a new game company. Insiders believe Tencent could force a hostile takeover of Grand Theft Auto parent company Take-Two Interactive, or possibly make a deal to buy out EA.

The more likely scenario sees Tencent buying a South Korean developer, sources say. Targets include NetMarble, South Korea’s biggest mobile game maker, and Nexon, the developer behind Dungeon Fighter. Tencent is already the third biggest shareholder in NetMarble with a 17.6% stake and could force a hostile takeover by acquiring more stake in the company. Tencent also has exclusive rights to publish Nexon’s Dungeon Fighter in China, showing the giant has existing connections with both firms.

Exceeds Expectations: New Atari VCS Tear-Down & Ryzen-Powered Console

We’re taking apart the brand new Atari VCS console from 2021 / 2020. The Atari VCS remake is a small gaming box with an AMD Ryzen SOC and, just maybe, some potential.

We’ll be separately reviewing this Atari VCS to see whether it’s worth it. The box is actually pretty interesting, as it can be customized with a new OS and is somewhat upgradeable by the user. It’s a lot more than we expected under the shell — but our expectations were that it’d house a Raspberry Pi-style PCB. In reality, the VCS has had a lot more effort go into it than we expected, so that’s a good start. We’ll have to test it and use it for the review to determine whether it makes any sense to buy, of course.

‘Ocarina Of Time’ Has Been Remade In Unreal Engine, And It’s Painfully Beautiful

I’ve seen a lot of Unreal Engine 4 remakes of classic games in my time, and I feel like so many of them miss the mark. While it’s always awesome to see my favourite games with a fresh coat of paint and enhanced graphics, a lot of these Unreal Engine remakes feel like they’re missing something. They’re technically impressive, of course, but they’re lacking that little extra flair – that art direction or unique style that made the very game its remaking such a timeless hit.

Not this one. YouTuber and Nintendo superfan Yianni Papazis has rebuilt the legendary N64 classic The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time in Unreal Engine 4, and it is stunning. This is, without doubt, the most impressive Unreal Engine remake I have ever seen, one that stays true to the bright colours and strange characters of the original game while looking like Nintendo could have released it for Switch yesterday. It’s achingly beautiful, and I mean that most sincerely.

Building A Water Cooled Raspberry Pi 4 Cluster

I built a water cooled Raspberry Pi 4 a couple of weeks ago. This was obviously crazy overkill for a single Raspberry Pi, but it isn’t actually why I bought the water cooling kit, I bought it along with 7 other Raspberry Pis so that I could try building my own water cooled Pi Cluster. I’ve really enjoyed the past few weekends putting it together. So, here’s a video of my Pi 4 cluster build, I hope you enjoy it!

3D Printed Pi Arcade is an Emulation Horn of Plenty

Let’s be honest, building a home arcade cabinet isn’t exactly the challenge it once was. There’s plenty of kits out there that do all the hard work for you, and they even sell some pretty passable turn-key units at Walmart now. If you want to put a traditional arcade cabinet in your home, it’s not hard to get one.

Which is why this wild build by [Rafael Rubio] is so interesting. The entirely 3D printed enclosure looks like some kind of art piece from the 1970s, and is a perfect example of the kind of unconventional designs made possible by low-cost additive manufacturing. Building something like this out of wood or metal would be nightmare, especially for the novice; but with even a relatively meager desktop 3D printer you’re only a few clicks away from running off your own copy.
