Why Legend of Zelda LEGO Sets Could Be Coming Next

This Hyrule Castle on LEGO Ideas would make a great official set for The Legend of Zelda, so Nintendo could release Zelda sets in the future.

In the past, LEGO Ideas has given fans the resources they need to conceptualize and create some great sets. The Legend of Zelda seems like a great series for Nintendo to license into a LEGO format, and a fan-made Hyrule Castle set proves this. So, will this mean that fans will finally get some official Legend of Zelda LEGO sets soon?

Luke Wren’s PicoStation 3D Games Console Gives the RP2040 FPGA 3D Powers — or Vice Versa

As-yet untested in hardware, the PicoStation 3D is a highly flexible pairing of an RP2040 microcontroller and iCE40 FPGA.

Engineer Luke Wren has released the design files for a Raspberry Pi RP2040-powered games console dubbed the PicoStation 3D — with a Lattice Semiconductor iCE40 UP5k FPGA as a coprocessor for 3D graphics.

Thermoelectric Cooler On The RaspberryPi 4! Super Low CPU Temps With Science!

In this video, I test out a Thermoelectric cooler on the Raspberry pi 4 and it worked out really well even when the Raspberry pi is overclocked, it’s actually the best cooler I’ve tested on the I so far. This Cooler uses the Peltier effect and is actually classified as a solid-state active heat pump, It transfers heat from one side of the device to the other using electricity. Basically when you apply power to the heatsink one side gets really hot and one side gets really cold.

The thermoelectric device I use in the video is a low power version but the cold side can still get down to 8 degrees Celsius.

You’ll Need a Microscope to Play This Inch-Tall Game Boy Clone

When the original Game Boy arrived, so did hundreds of accessories designed to improve its gameplay experience, including oversized lenses to help magnify its small screen. For the Arduboy Nano, however, you’ll have a better chance at getting the next high score if you stick it under a microscope.

Way back in 2014, Kevin Bates floored us with a credit card-thin electronic business card that put a fully playable game of Tetris in your wallet. That creation eventually went on to become an officially licensed handheld system and inspired the creation of Bates’ Arduboy: an open-source Arduino-based Game Boy clone with a loyal following of developers who’ve created hundreds of free games for it.

Report: Tencent raising billions to buy EA, Take-Two, or others

Sources tell TMT Finance that Tencent is raising billions to buy out a new game company. Insiders believe Tencent could force a hostile takeover of Grand Theft Auto parent company Take-Two Interactive, or possibly make a deal to buy out EA.

The more likely scenario sees Tencent buying a South Korean developer, sources say. Targets include NetMarble, South Korea’s biggest mobile game maker, and Nexon, the developer behind Dungeon Fighter. Tencent is already the third biggest shareholder in NetMarble with a 17.6% stake and could force a hostile takeover by acquiring more stake in the company. Tencent also has exclusive rights to publish Nexon’s Dungeon Fighter in China, showing the giant has existing connections with both firms.

Exceeds Expectations: New Atari VCS Tear-Down & Ryzen-Powered Console

We’re taking apart the brand new Atari VCS console from 2021 / 2020. The Atari VCS remake is a small gaming box with an AMD Ryzen SOC and, just maybe, some potential.

We’ll be separately reviewing this Atari VCS to see whether it’s worth it. The box is actually pretty interesting, as it can be customized with a new OS and is somewhat upgradeable by the user. It’s a lot more than we expected under the shell — but our expectations were that it’d house a Raspberry Pi-style PCB. In reality, the VCS has had a lot more effort go into it than we expected, so that’s a good start. We’ll have to test it and use it for the review to determine whether it makes any sense to buy, of course.

‘Ocarina Of Time’ Has Been Remade In Unreal Engine, And It’s Painfully Beautiful

I’ve seen a lot of Unreal Engine 4 remakes of classic games in my time, and I feel like so many of them miss the mark. While it’s always awesome to see my favourite games with a fresh coat of paint and enhanced graphics, a lot of these Unreal Engine remakes feel like they’re missing something. They’re technically impressive, of course, but they’re lacking that little extra flair – that art direction or unique style that made the very game its remaking such a timeless hit.

Not this one. YouTuber and Nintendo superfan Yianni Papazis has rebuilt the legendary N64 classic The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time in Unreal Engine 4, and it is stunning. This is, without doubt, the most impressive Unreal Engine remake I have ever seen, one that stays true to the bright colours and strange characters of the original game while looking like Nintendo could have released it for Switch yesterday. It’s achingly beautiful, and I mean that most sincerely.
