SwarmTouch: Handheld Interaction with Multiple Drones at Once

AMD adds the Ryzen 9 3900 and Ryzen 5 3500X to its growing Zen 2 garden

As expected, AMD followed up the recent launch of its Ryzen 9 Pro 3900 CPU for businesses with a non-Pro variant for consumers, the Ryzen 9 3900. It also further fleshed out its latest generation of Zen processors with new Ryzen 5 3500X processor.

We have been anticipating the 3900 part since Biostar tipped its pending launch on its CPU support list a couple of weeks ago. It’s essentially a lower power version of the 3900X, one of the best CPUs for gaming, with slower clocks. It has 12 cores and 24 threads, a 3.1GHz base clock and 4.3GHz boost clock, and 64MB of L3 cache. It also has a 65W TDP.

65-Inch Flatscreen Modded To Look Like A Giant Nintendo Switch

This is the 65-inch flatscreen television that hardcore Nintendo fan Suprman9 modded with a custom wooden frame to look like a giant Nintendo Switch for his basement rumpus room. Man, I wish I had a rumpus room. Unfortunately my apartment is really just one small room, a smaller bedroom, and a bathroom not even big enough to swing a gerbil in, so there is no room for rumpus. Using WebUSB with Arduino and TinyUSB

Adafruit recently uploaded a hand guide on how to use Google’s WebUSB API with the TinyUSB stack and Arduino-based projects and how to interact with them in Chrome. Googles WebUSB platform is a JavaScript programming interface that allows users to interact with USB devices via web pages. The TinyUSB library enables Arduino-based development boards to appear as USB devices, making it easy to connect them to the WebUSB standard.

The Pixblasters Video LED Controller

There are a few tools that pretty much every maker has in their tool box. We all have an Arduino or two on the shelf waiting for the next project. It’s also pretty likely that we might have a roll of NeoPixels or two stashed away for emergencies.

The WS212B-based LED strips have become an almost ubiquitous solution when flashing coloured lights are needed. Despite this, it can be hard to connect large numbers of them together into a single display, which is where the Pixblasters MS1 video controller board might come in handy.

Raspberry Pi Ham Radio Remote – Reviewed

One problem with ham radio these days is that most hams live where you can’t put a big old antenna up due to city laws and homeowner covenants. If you’re just working local stations on VHF or UHF, that might not be a big problem. But for HF usage, using a low profile antenna is a big deal. However, most modern radios can operate remotely. Well-known ham radio company MFJ now has the RigPi Station Server and [Ham Radio DX] has an early version and did a review.

As the name implies, the box contains a Raspberry Pi. There’s also an audio interface. The idea is to consolidate rig control along with other station control (such as rotators) along with feeding audio back and forth to the radio. It also sends Morse code keying to the radio. The idea is that this box will put your radio on the network so that you operate it using a web browser on a PC or a mobile device.

Raspberry Pi 4 Can Now Overclock to 2.147 GHz. Here’s How.

The Raspberry Pi 4 is much faster than every prior Raspberry Pi, but what if you could squeeze much more than the base 1.5 GHz out of its Broadcom BCM2711B0 CPU? Fortunately, it’s easy to overclock any Raspberry Pi and you can do it just by tweaking a few lines of text in the /boot/config.txt file. Now, with the latest firmware, we were able to reach a speed of 2,147 MHz, which we believe is a new high.

With prior firmware, the Pi 4 B’s processor was limited to a maximum overclocked frequency of 2 GHz, which is pretty good all by itself. However, the latest update let us push it up another 147 MHz. We were also able to increase the GPU clock speed to 750 MHz, a big boost over its 500 MHz stock speed and the 600 MHz we had overclocked it to previously.
