Is it possible to destroy a 3D printer by moving the axes by hand?

In this video I show if it’s possible to destroy a 3D printer by moving the axes by hand. For this experiment I use my old Anet A8 because that’s the best thing I can do with this printer xD. The reason for this experiment is that I got several comments from people saying that it’s not smart to move your axes by hand because it might destroy your main board. I hope that this video gives a bit of insight about this phenomenon.

Plex & Locast: Recording Local TV Without the Antenna

I have been a long time Plex user for years. Alongside my extensive movie collection, I also like to keep up on the local news and occasionally watch some sports or TV special. Previously I had successfully used a TV tuner with Plex, but after moving to a new home that got terrible reception, I had to look for other solutions. Thankfully, here in the US, Locast allows you to get local OTA TV over the internet. Here’s how to get it into Plex.

A new Zelda game could be coming to Switch, and it’s not Breath of the Wild 2

A new Amazon listing for an upcoming Nintendo Switch game has us thanking the heavens – which is fitting, given that game is none other than The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

The 2011 installment in the beloved Nintendo franchise launched originally on the Nintendo Wii, with a release on the Wii U eShop in 2016. It was the last mainline Zelda game before Breath of the Wild (2017) on the Nintendo Switch, and is well due a port for the expanded audience of Nintendo’s bestselling hybrid console.

Grafitti Transforms Boxcar Into a Vintage Nintendo Controller

Train graffiti isn’t uncommon and is something that might not catch your eye. But if you were stopped at a train crossing, you’d surely notice this boxcar made to look like a giant Nintendo Entertainment System game controller. The painted car includes the large plus sign and bright red buttons we all know and love.

This impressive piece of graffiti is a slightly modified version of the console’s original controller, and was tagged by TEXER ALB. The real thing has two red buttons, not three like we see here. Each circle on the boxcar represents A, L, and B that corresponds to the tagger’s initials, hence the need for the additional button.

Scientists Transform Bricks Into Supercapacitors

Researchers from Washington University St. Louis have developed a way to turn everyday construction bricks into supercapacitors capable of storing energy. The proof of the concept for transforming ordinary bricks that have been made the same way for thousands of years could hold applications in powering homes or even used as sensors. For example, the bricks could be wired to solar panels to store energy for times when homes lose power.

If what Intel told me this week is true, it could have a killer CPU in the wings that will offer the biggest leaps in architecture and performance we’ve seen since the revolutionary Core micro-architecture back in 2006.

After its virtual Architecture Day held online for journalists this week, I spoke to Raja M. Koduri, Intel’s senior vice president, chief architect and general manager of its Architecture, Graphics, and Software divisions about a range of topics, which you can read more about in this article. However, the main takeaway is that it’s Alder Lake CPUs, which are currently penciled in for a 2021 release, could massively improve the company’s fortunes, especially on desktop PCs.
