Enjoy Toto’s “Africa” Played Entirely on Tesla Coils
The internet is obsessed with two songs and two songs only. But for different reasons. The first is Smash Mouth’s “All Star.” It’s a bad song that garners a lot of ironic admiration. It’s silly and it lends itself perfectly to silly covers. The world wide web’s other musical obsession though legitimately rules—Toto’s “Africa.” Whether it’s being played with sweet potatoes or being sung via a litany of cartoon impressions, it always sounds great. There’s just something inherently electric about it, which is why it’s also amazing when played entirely by Tesla coils.
Visualize noise pollution with an Arduino sound meter
In our day-to-day lives we encounter a wide variety of ambient sounds, and in order to highlight noise pollution, LucĂa Garbo decided to make an elegant meter.
The device features an outer shell designed in Fusion 360 and 3D-printed, concealing an Arduino Mega, a SparkFun Sound Detector, and associated circuitry inside. Components are neatly connected via a perfboard, which should allow easy modification later.

You’re Probably Doing 3D Printing Tolerancing Wrong, Here is a Better Way.
Do you use 3D printing to make functional parts? Do your printed parts have slight dimensional errors, such as undersized holes? It is essential to take care of this if you use your FDM 3D printer to make precise or functional parts. Here’s the easiest and most elegant fix, using nothing but your slicer and a caliper.
Because the extruded molten plastic gets squashed by the nozzle and also flows outward toward the sides, everything you print is fattened, creating overall oversized prints and undersized holes.
Fortunately, there are ways to fix this flaw. First, I would recommend against these methods, if you currently use them:

Configuring Retropie and Ultimarc ultimate IO board with RGB LED buttons using RGB commander
This is part two of a series on how to configure an arcade control panel with color changing LED buttons. I will be using the Ultimarc ultimate IO board, Retropie, MAME, and a program to control the LEDs called RGB commander.
Switch Fighter transforms the Nintendo Switch into a dedicated arcade stick cabinet with dock support
The Nintendo Switch has emerged as a great system for fighting games from new releases like Mortal Kombat 11, Samurai Shodown and Dragon Ball FighterZ gracing the console along with tons of classics though playing them on an arcade stick can prove difficult at times.
There’s currently a new product campaign on Indiegogo looking to solve that issue called the Switch Fighter which turns the console into a dedicated arcade stick dock with a screen.
Molded in the style of a traditional arcade cabinet flattened out, the Switch Fighter acts as a mini stick featuring six buttons on top of the system with an extra two below along with the system-specific inputs.

In this episode we take a look at the story of one of largest video game leaks of all time.
Blip – 1977 Mechanical Pong
Blip is really fun despite how hard it is. As long as you know what you are getting into you won’t be disappointed. It does as good of a job as it could have for the time. Though I think it still could have had sliders instead of buttons and probably been more fun. But it’s worth checking out none the less.
