Scientists Transform Bricks Into Supercapacitors

Researchers from Washington University St. Louis have developed a way to turn everyday construction bricks into supercapacitors capable of storing energy. The proof of the concept for transforming ordinary bricks that have been made the same way for thousands of years could hold applications in powering homes or even used as sensors. For example, the bricks could be wired to solar panels to store energy for times when homes lose power.

Intel’s Surprise Ryzen Killer: Alder Lake Hybrid Processors Offer Biggest Performance Leap In 14 Years

If what Intel told me this week is true, it could have a killer CPU in the wings that will offer the biggest leaps in architecture and performance we’ve seen since the revolutionary Core micro-architecture back in 2006.

After its virtual Architecture Day held online for journalists this week, I spoke to Raja M. Koduri, Intel’s senior vice president, chief architect and general manager of its Architecture, Graphics, and Software divisions about a range of topics, which you can read more about in this article. However, the main takeaway is that it’s Alder Lake CPUs, which are currently penciled in for a 2021 release, could massively improve the company’s fortunes, especially on desktop PCs.

Is this our first look at an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090’s PCB? Probably not

With Nvidia’s recent announcement that it’ll be detailing its “latest graphics innovations” on September 1, we imagine excitement for upcoming RTX 30-series consumer GPUs is rife. These should become some of the best graphics cards of 2020 and 2021, and will give many gamers opportunity for a new upgrade. We’ve seen no official pictures of 30-series GPUs or PCBs, but now we have some pictures that supposedly show an RTX 3090’s PCB.

Is Nintendo Teasing the Return of Super Mario Sunshine on Switch?

Earlier today, Nintendo of America Tweeted out a new image of Mario lounging in the summer sun. The render could just be a fun summer-themed design, but Nintendo fans are convinced that there might be something more to it. Earlier this year, rumors began circulating that Super Mario Sunshine will appear on Nintendo Switch, alongside other 3D Mario classics. The game debuted on GameCube back in 2002, and has never been ported to another console. Whether the image is a hint at the game’s return or just some summer fun from Nintendo remains to be seen, but the company has certainly gained the attention of fans!
