I actually didn't pay attention to the seller location. I just went to the link provided for AliExpress and added 2 to the cart.
I am actually really excited to get these and test them out, SNES was always my fave and Pinky Pi just has to few buttons to play SNES.

That and this will expand the PinkyPi options list, first 2 being the 1.33inch IPS 240x240 LCD, next I'll finish soon is the 1.4inch TFT 128x128 LCD, and lastly this module.

I've completed build 2.0 of PinkyPi, and updated the files on Thingiverse!

I've increased the wall thickness from 1.2mm to 1.5mm

Moved the volume wheel to the center of the case

Redesigned the buttons for a smoother feel

And made additional design changes for an overall better fitment.

The new STL files can be found on my Thingiverse

I am toying around with fitment and screws to use.

So far my best results are, starting from bottom to top.

4x 6mm M2.5 button head screws (Very bottom)

4x 8mm Female-Female M2.5 standoffs (battery layer)

4x 10mm Male-Female M2.5 standoffs (middle layer)

4x 8mm M2.5 button head screws (Very top)

I'm going through my assembly video this week and should have a Youtube instructional video online by this weekend! I'll be sure to post a link here once it's complete.

It's coming, Thrusday evening we had a major outage at work that kept me up nearly 48 hours resolving.
I spent a large part of today cutting up the video, and should be able to get the voice over done in the next day or 2. Sadly no 1.5inch display yet, but I've modified the case and layout in anticipation for the added designs!

I would love one! Also, I was wondering what the capacitor does for this circuit. I'm trying to build my understanding of electronics, and you're helping! 🙂

Looks like I'm going to gear up for that giveaway here in the next couple of weeks. Gizard, what color combo do you think I should go with?

All white with colored buttons

Black and Grey with red buttons (like the NES style I made)

All black with Red buttons? hmmm

I am still awaiting the arrival of the 1.5inch screen hat with the SNES style button layout, in the meantime I've decided to work on the 1.4inch top for the case.

This still uses a Waveshare game hat, but with a 1.4inch TFT LCD at 128x128, and still the 3 button limit and joystick that clicks in as button 4.

I am printing out the new test design as we speak and should be able to verify fitment shortly. I did have to modify the buttons for them to fit as well, so I'll be updating the thingiverse files as follows (once all is complete).

Case - This will be the mid and lower sections
Top-A - This will be the 1.3inch LCD you've seen a majority of, 240x240 display
Top-B - This will be the 1.4inch version of the display
Top-C - This will be the 1.5inch SNES version of the display
Buttons-A These will be the buttons for the 1.3inch display

And so on, Buttons A and B will be very similar, with the exception of some of the internal guides needing trimmed for the larger screen.
Buttons C will be a complete redesign to fit the new SNES style hat.

I am also still debating circling back and making the non-battery lower portion, for those that just wish to run it off Micro USB for power, and of course lastly DIY kits and prefab PCBs 😉

Thank you for joining!

I am still awaiting mine from Aliexpress to show up, I'm hoping it will be in the next week or two =(

I do have the build video for the current setup with the 1.3inch display and 3 buttons.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZS_BkipcUi0

I will more than likely make an additional video once I get the SNES style display/buttons that shows just the installation of the SNES top (not a full rebuild).

Let me know if you have any questions in the meantime =) Glad to have you aboard!

Nice!

I was lucky enough as well to get 2 of them at $10 each, I checked back a day later and the price had jumped to $25 each. I've looked up my tacking for the shipment and it was in my City over the weekend, so it may show up here this week!
It'll take me a few days to design the new top for it, but stayed tuned it should be coming here really soon!
