Nintendo sues ROM-sharing website for at least $2 million

Nintendo isn’t afraid of using litigation in its quest to stop piracy, recently succeeding in getting Switch piracy websites blocked in the UK. Now, it is continuing that fight by filing a multimillion dollar lawsuit against a ROM-sharing site.

The company is suing RomUniverse, a subscription-based ROM service which offers unlimited downloads of new and old Nintendo games for $30 per year, as reported by Polygon.

That Hidden LED Light On Your Nintendo Switch Controller Finally Has A Use

The Nintendo Switch has been on the market for more than two and half years now, but one of its available functions hasn’t had any use (officially, at least) in all that time. Now, though, the time has finally come for that little function to shine.

On your right-hand Joy-Con and your Pro Controller, you’ll notice that the HOME button has a ring around the edge. As you may or may not already be aware, that ring is actually an LED light; we’ve seen it light up before but only when a Pro Controller connects to Steam.

The Super Nintendo was released in North America in 1991 and it featured an almost identical lockout chip from the NES known as the CiC.

By 1994 cartridge based disk copiers became popular which easily circumvented any region protection. In this video we look at different methods Nintendo used to detect copiers and lock out backup copies.

Check out this Unity-powered fan remake of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

Ever since Grezzo started the Zelda remake train in 2011 with The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, fans of each game in the series have been clamoring for stylish, up-to-date remakes. While Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, The Wind Waker,Twilight Princess, and Link’s Awakening have all been touched up, several beloved 2D titles are yet to get their number called. The most notable title yet to be remade is certainly The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. One Twitter user, who goes by BlobVanDam, has grown impatient and taken it upon himself to fully rebuild the game using the Unity Engine. After beginning work in April, BlobVanDam has made quite a bit of progress.

Switch SNES Controller Confirmed, Nintendo Switch Online SNES Games Next?

A SNES-style controller for the Nintendo Switch has been spotted thanks to a new FCC filing, which hints that we could see SNES games added to Nintendo Switch Online service sooner rather than later.

The filing – spotted by Restera user Link83 – shows the rear of the controller, complete with the all-important “HAC” model number, which is used by Nintendo to denote Switch hardware and accessories.
