A few videos back I turned a Noctua A12x25 fan into a siren, it worked but it was only around 70 dB, impressive for a 2000RPM fan but nowhere near real siren sound levels. You all asked me to follow up on that video and make a Tornado siren powered by my miniquad motors, so today that’s what we do
3D Printing
HELICOIL®, Threaded Insert or Embedded Nut in 3D Prints?
Adding threads to 3D prints does not only improve the look of them but can also improve strength and usability. I’ve been working on a couple of comments and suggestions from the last videos on that topic. We’ll be testing the strength of Böllhoffs Helicoils as well as embedded nut and compare that to the strength of heat-seated inserts. We’ll also take a look at the strength assessment of these connections and see how they compare to our test results!

3D printing functional car parts with ApolloX
Can 3D printing be used for car parts found in an engine bay? The answer is yes with Form Futura ApolloX. This video takes you through my design process for modelling and 3D printing an airbox for a modified car.
Remelting 3D printed thermoplastics (the salt method)
This is a method I developed a few years back for my day job. We needed watertight containers made from PETG as we were handling chemicals that would easily diffuse through – and break down all other commercially available thermoplastics. After some trials with sand I started using finely ground salt.
It perfectly immobilizes the parts, and gets only superficially embedded. Once the parts are baked, the salt will have superficially embedded itself into the part surface. Washing the part in warm water will dissolve all the salt, leaving behind a sparkly texture.

Octoprint Enhanced Control
Hello everybody!!
I just wanted to control remotely my 3d printer, so I got a raspberry pi.
I setup octopi/octoprint and everything ran smoothly but I couldn’t power off the printer main power remotely.
Trying to find solutions on the net I found this instructable from MakinThings.
So I decided to control not only the light, but also the main power for the printer.

This 3D Printed “Bladeless” Fan Gets it Done Cheap!
Not long after Dyson unveiled their “bladeless” fan, a fairly steady stream of ever cheaper clones have been hitting the market. But this 3D printed version created by [Elite Worm] must surely be one of the most budget-friendly takes on the concept. If you’ve got a 3D printer, we’d wager you’ve already got most of the parts required to build your own.

*BREAKING NEWS* All the Changes & Functionality Being REMOVED from Fusion 360 (Free) For Personal
BIG announcement from Autodesk, in this video I’m conveying the message of what’s going on with Fusion 360 for Personal Use, times are changing, if you use the personal use version then you should be aware of what’s about to happen.
FreeABL – the ultra cheap (free) ABL for Ender 3
FreeABL is my idea of easily achieving auto bed leveling on an Ender 3 without the need to buy anything, using only the parts that already come with the printer
Most common ABL devices use a servo to move a microswitch into place to perform bed leveling, while my design allows you to manually clip the switch into place to do homing and mesh bed leveling, then you unplug and remove it while the print is in progress. This reuses parts you already have and is much less complex compared to a BLTouch or similar, but still delivers accurate mesh values that are perfectly good for bed leveling.
